Hey new to the forum. Im looking to get a single speed my price range is between $500.00-$800.00..... I wanted to get some suggestion from you guys/gals on here im in the philadelphia area..... I went to a local bikeshop and they carried all city, masi and fuji as complete bikes saw a masi i liked for around 750.00 on sale are they decent bikes for the money also thinking about a jamis sputnik or bianchi pista.... And i see most people ride steel frames so should i stay away from aluminum? Also to save some money i see really good reviews on the kilo tt is it really that nice?

Kilo TT is by all accounts a good starter bike, if you want the best value and don't mind buying online, get that. Then you have spare money for upgrades or ...rent...

Mercier Kilo TT: Unofficially the official bike of BFSSFG. Get one!!

An IRO Mark V if you think steel is real, or maybe a Trek T1 if you fancy aluminum w/ a CF fork.

I hear Big Shot makes some nice bikes.

Also I'm getting cranky because I haven't eaten my usual Wawa breakfast hoagie yet. What'd everybody have for lunch?

Hey looked at the bikes you guys suggested they all look good, now how would you rate the Masi and All-city bikes? The Trek looks sweet but hows the ride gonna be compared to steel better worse? I will be using the bike for communting, bike rides with friends and so on.....

Wawa may be the thing I miss the most about Delaware. It is the greatest store ever created. Thankfully they're building one in Orlando.

I don't know what kind of riding you are planning on doing, but I ride fixed for commuting (no trix or barspinz for me) and long distance 'fun rides' and my next bike is definitely going to be a Wabi.

Oh man, they're really expanding! I'll have to check out the one in Orlando when I go to Disney this summer.

I love how no matter how big Wawa gets, they still treat you like their favorite customer. Sets them a step above 7-Eleven in my opinion. I don't know how 7-Eleven stays in business in any town that has a Wawa.
