MKS GR-9 Pedals (Silver)

Hello all,

I am about to get these pedals this afternoon. What do you think?

Good, bad choice?

https://www.google.com/search?q=MKS+G...ed=0CCMQ_AUoAQ

The top surface seems a bit smooth, has anyone sliped off these ones?

Cheers

M.

Sorry, no pics.I am at work (office)

I have these with clips and straps, and I don't have to worry about slippage. They wouldn't be all that great without clips though.

If it weren't for my feet being a little too big for them, I'd think they're the perfect pedal.

I have them and I think they're great. I have slipped on occasion in wet conditions, though. It also depends on what shoe you're wearing.

Had them until I got my new pedals (clipless) and I loved them. They were really easy to flip over (a problem I had when I first started riding), but I never had a slipping problem unless it was raining/wet, and I didn't get my foot all the way into my clip/strap.

Still have them in case I wanna go back, but I doubt I will. Highly suggest them though.

Thanks Guys,

I will be using clips and straps.

Should I worry about thread type? They are going to be fitted on an old peugeot

How old? Original cranks? Could be French pedal thread 14mm x 1.25mm. Peugeot for US market has used standard English pedal threads 9/16" x 20 tpi since mid 70s, so most likely you're ok.

Size 12 here, they're perfect if they fit, and they are not meant to be ridden without clips and straps, that would be suicide.

You should be ok then. Peugeot as well as other French manufacturers switched over to English standard by the mid 80s.

Calv hit it on the head - Sylvans on my 722 and Wellgo RO-25Bs (the sealed-cartridge version) on my 725. Those Wellgo's are seriously my favorite pedal ever. I wasn't sure if I would like them because I wear a size 12 shoe and they're so small but I love the hell out of them.

The Mesa looks alright for a platform-type pedal I guess. Not really my thing.

As far as clips go, my feet fit nicely in size large MKS clips.

I have the Sylvan Lites which are similar to these... if you're sporting clips and strap there's no reason you'd be slipping out of them... unless you're riding backwards with gale force winds pushing on your front and rain coming down torrentially...
