That's right. That there is film originated footage. 35mm film. 35mm motion picture cameras shoot 1000 foot loads. 1000 feet running at 24/25fps equals around 10 minutes running time. Of course, once the car is moving, nobody can change the magazine. So, its one camera roll, one take, 10 mins. |
The footage from the SF vid rocks - I love the Def Leppard backing.
It's great to see some freaks charging through Chinatown - Right when they come out of the Stockton tunnel. I'm way too jittery to hit the SF streets. I can keep myself up at night thinking about losing control on some of those hills...Maybe someday, but not today. Totally impressive those vids are...Thanks to the OP for clueing me in like that.. ANyone have any posts or rec's for more Fixed-Centric videos? I spend almost all of my time riding solo, and I love picking up tips just by watching better riders. |
Is it just me, or does it seem fake, and the sound was added later? It doesn't look like he's going that fast, and even when he's making slower turns or moving around cars, the tires are squealing like crazy.

If you read up on this film, you'll find that people have been debating this for a long time. According to to car buffs, if this guy is a race car driver he would be using the engine differently, shifting and so on, so it sounds different than you would expect. Skeptics who agree with the dubbed theory also postulate that he was actually on a motorcycle, or a different kind of car, the list goes on. Supposedly he slows down to 30mph in some parts, but that is still impressive given Paris streets. |
have you guys not ever seen any of the getaway in stockholm series (the older ones)??
