Sweet Fixie Handlebars

I've been seeing a lot of cool kids on their sweet fixies with their bars at an odd angle. Like this:

Can anyone give me an idea of why? Am I missing something?

I refuse to believe this until someone explains how it could possibly be more comfortable than having the bars closer to level.

I think the claim is that when you're climbing and leaning forward it's more comfortable. However, I'd need about a 30cm top tube for that to make sense. Pretty sure people just do it to look cool but someone will come along shortly to defend it. They will probably be angry.

I have those same bars. There's no way people find that more comfortable. When I got them I put them at that angle for tarck steez and it hurts your wrists like none other. They're super comfortable angled up but it looks janky so I ride with mine flat.

We are all the same. But we are all built different.

And on the the Akido tip...some MMA bro shanked me with a hand made forged knife last weekend. In the leg. Sick move. He got elbowed.

Man, am I ever pissed!

My Deda Lowriders are designed to be angled down just a bit and if they're not, riding anywhere on the tops or bends is uncomfortable due to the weird position it puts your wrists in (the "flat" tops are actually angled back too much when the bars are level). The only time I'm out on the horns is when out of the saddle and climbing - I find that because I have longish arms, it does feel a little better with them dropped about 2cm in front.

I know this may throw a wrench into what ol' hammy thinks he knows about me but aesthetically, I would like my bars better if they were level.

Fashion and form over comfort and functionality.

See also: super tight jeans. They're like a cheap hotel: no ball room.

Ah, climbing. That must be why pros always angle their bars down when it comes time to hit the mountains.

I'm just playing around y'all. I know that there isn't any logical reasoning behind riding your bars like that. I just like to hear kids struggling to justify their stupid choices.
