Tange Bottom Bracket Help
I recently bought a Tange bottom bracket 68 x 103. When I received it in the mail and checked it out, the left cup seemed to be stuck on and I couldnt remove it. It looks like it's jammed at an odd angle. It still spins, but its definitely stuck.
My questions are, for those who have experience with Tange bottom brackets, is it necessary for the left cup to be removed to be installed?? I'm assuming I got a faulty bracket. Can the cup be removed by going to my LBS without damaging the threading, or can I do it myself with some tools? I'll post pictures of it if necessary |
The nondriveside cup holds the BB at the right angle inside the shell. What you do is put in the main cartridge(which includes the drive side threading, then spin on the nondrive cup. So you will have to take off the cup. If it was just sat on there wrong, or got bumped around during shifting you may be able to tap it off with a screwdriver and mallet.

OK, that's what I thought.
I was afraid of doing anything I would regret to it, just in case it required some special installation method. Thanks for the help |
