Opinions on Scrambler V3 complete
what are your thoughts/opinions on this particular bike? for an entry bike.

Depends on what you're looking for in a fixed gear. What do you need/want?
In b4 kilo tt For less money you can get what everybody in this forum raves about (http://www.bikesdirect.com/products/mercier/kilott.htm). I've never ridden one but they have an excelent reputation for a first (or even last) fixed gear bike. |
My opinion: make a more useful thred title. Id suggest "Opinions on Scrambler V3"

No. It has slack trick geometry-- so unless you want to do barspins... its kinda lame. Componant wise everything is OK, but not worth 500. Seems to be overpriced entry level.
Also... It has that generic looking stereotype hipster style to it (you know, the republic bikes, state bikes etc style). blarg. |
I hear Big Shot bikes are nice.

Why kinda lame? Its often very practical, especially for a new rider. Yeah. But they all have the same generic style that looks like rainbow barf. And seriously 430 for it? It'd be more practical to build a conversion. My favorite ride right now is a Bottechia converstion that cost me about 200 to build... Id rather have Italian design over Chinese Rainbow design. |

How do you decide what looks like a bike that's worth its price?
