Dawes Revolver or Nashbar Hounder?

I'm looking for a sub $200 single speed bike for my girlfriend. Im looking at the Hounder and Dawes Revolver. Which of the two is better?

Any other recommendations for a bike 200 or less?

Do you mind buying used? If not, I would recommend that route... even the cheapest fixed gears on BikesDirect are still ~$280.

Take her to pawn shop.

Make a day date out of it.

Then get wasted on hobo wine.

Mongoose Cachet $150

Not a great bike, but probably at least 150 dollars worth of bike.

DO NOT BUY THE MONGOOSE CACHET...UNLESS...you are comfortable working on your own bike.

There are some serious issues with the cachet. At least with the one I purchased.

For starters...the seatpost did not fit into the seat tube =_=

Fork ends => no aligned o.O

pedals, straps, brakes, maybe even the levers need to be replaced.

saddle => replace

comes set up as a singlespeed yet they do give you a lockring for the other side o.O

...hmm what else lol.

Yeah expect to do some major work on it. Did i mention the chainring does not spin straight haha.... it has some nice wobble going on.

I expect a perfect chainline to be near impossible. But hey its on sale for ~125. so...

But wth...your gf deserves better. Buy her something nice. DONT BE A JERK.

at least the hour is about $280 shipped. Not too bad. $80 more and you wont have to do any work 'cept putting the bike together.

You should save up for a Mercier Kilo TT. She'll be way happier in the long run.
