PowerGrips straps
I am in need of some new clips/straps. the steel and plastic toe cages just arent cutting it for me anymore. I have looked into the power grip straps and the holdfast ones. i am intrigued with the idea and the price tag of the power grips, but i am skeptical of the design and strength of them. the holdfast ones are great i hear and i see them everywhere so i figure they rock, but $60 for straps is a lil steep i think for to straps.
So i was just wondering if anyone has used the PowerGrip straps and how they work. i would like to get these due to the price and functionality, or if they just suck i'll just go with the holdfast straps or maybe try and make my own. |
I tried out the PowerGrips and really didn't like them. If you want a similar setup I would go with these, permitting you already have the proper pedals. If you are starting from scratch I would get these, which are the same straps but they come with platform pedals. Hold Fast straps are great as well.

Since some of these goons are bound to post the link I'll just go ahead and do it already: http://www.retro-gression.com/produc...ps-straps-only
People on this board love them :) |
There have been countless threads about PowerGrips and the general consensus is that they're ok for riding SS but suck for riding fixed. I've used them and broke the little metal clips that attach them to the pedals right away.
Oh...and thanks for the plug! :D |
oh kool. these look great and have an awesome price tag. nice. i will probably go with these.
and does anyone know if you can pick them up in Beverly, MA? i live in providence rhode island but am in boston a few times a week, and beverly is right nearby to boston. it could be worth it to make a stop there |
