I don't think you read too good.
I have no problem paying for labor from LBS. That was never a gripe of mine. Maybe you co-fused? And anyways, who are you his father? He's a big boy and can respond on his own. My guess is he figured I'm not worth the time/effort. And I don't entirely disagree. And I don't know about my mental status. I don't take meds if that's what your asking. Nor have I ever been diagnosed with any mental illness or condition. Wait, a doctor said I had ADD when I was a kid but my mom disagreed I guess. I do smoke herb. I do drink beer. Those are my only meds aside from the occasional hallucinogen. I think what you're noticing is that I have different moods. I thought that was common. Plus I'm at work when I'm on here so I can be stressed form time to time. Uncool of me to expect you all to deal with that I guess but oh ****ing well. I was told by someone around here that I should stop apologizing so much. ;) I was clarifying what cc700 said. That has nothing to do with what you're ok/not ok with. So maybe you don't read too good. Why do I have to be his father to clarify a misunderstanding on your part? Either way, you're not worth my time. Laters. |
Do I need to sharpen my ban saw?
|
I tried to find a sw8 picture of a ban saw, but only found boring bandsaws. The internet let me down today.
|
Me too!

Ban?
I don't get this place sometimes. I use the "Should I" thread properly, instead of starting a new thread. This because I've been asked (told) to do so by a handful of people here who get really bent out of shape by such things... Someone disagrees with me (no trouble there) but does so in a very condescending way. So I reciprocate that attitude, and suddenly I'm being warned about a possible ban. cc700 could've made his point without being rude. But chose not to take that path. It was done anyways, but then Jaytron revives it by coming at me (rudely and in a personal manner). And like I said, suddenly I'm the one who is being threatened with a ban. I literally have no idea what is expected of me here sometimes. I would appreciate it if someone could provide an example of me being a jerk, unprovoked. Because I know I can provide MANY examples of people here jumping all over less knowledgable/experienced people, unprovoked. And no ban warning was issued. I'm not crying or anything. I just feel the need to point this out. And I'd love an honest to goodness rebuttle, not just "cuz internet" or a gif. (even though I do love me some comedy and gifs) |
LL, I think there are probably two different things going on here. One is that you post way more than is really necessary or helpful. You come off as needy and using the forum to avoid loneliness. People can sometimes find this irritating and it will cause them to be brusque.
The second thing is that in social circumstances where you don't know everybody well, and people tease you, it is inappropriate to react in kind or retaliate. To retaliate shows social weakness and immaturity and it is likely to result in people piling on. When people were telling you to get a thicker skin the other day it was with your own best interest in mind. Your retaliating will not change the nature of the forum but will only make you look like a bad guy. Teasing is dished out as an opportunity to show whether you are able to be social or not and you have been failing at this test. I will also say that this kind of extended back-and-forth did not occur nearly as much before you joined so I would hope that you would take this as an opportunity to do some self-evaluation. I'm not saying that you are not justified in whatever you say but that you are hurting your esteem within the forums by acting the way you are. It isn't a matter of justice or fairness. |
Thanks man. Sincerely. That is the kind of response that I appreciate.
Yes it points out my shortcomings but it's not disrespectful. I post a lot because I'm at work and this is one of the few sites that isn't blocked. I'll try to post less though. Didn't realize. Thanks. |

Should I ride around downtown Toronto tomorrow, sightseeing/learning to get around, or should I ride to the "beach" (it's in quotation marks because I'm used to the beach meaning sand and ocean)?
You guys really let me down. |

i should also clarify that the reason i was being mad anger was because i loved both of my andel cranksets and thought they were both great buys, and i paid over 100 for each, so the idea that someone thinks 125 is overpriced just because the walmart of fixies is selling them for less, well, it got to me. i should have been nicer about it. and before anyone else says it, yes i know that walmart is now the walmart of fixies. Jared... i hope you got a Zen ring. I'm saving up for my first Zen ring. I hear it's worth it. Zen ring, super toughness chain, phil cog. |
john hates his phil cog
|

Is that normal? Word on the street is that Phil cogs are uber silent. Any truth to that? |

Should I do anything special (grease?) when installing/using 25.4-26.0 Nitto bar shims?
Don't want to scrape up the bars, and don't want any noise or slippage. Plan is to use the shim with the various 26.0 stems I have, then buy a 25.4 stem to fit the bars once I decide which one works best w the new bars. |
Grease defeats the purpose of the texture the shim has.
