Gear Ratios for Fixed Gear riding
I am new to riding a fixed gear bike enjoying it very much.. my gear ratio is 50 x 17. Is this an okay ratio to begin riding fixed gear?? I am Having issues skidding im not sure if its me or the ratio... I do have a front brake.. so skidding is not my #1 option for stopping but it is does look like a lot of fun and would like to play around but mine seems to be a bit difficult...any recommendations or pointers would be great!

Any gear ratio is fine. It's all in the technique. Just go onto Youtube, check out some skidding tutorials and find an empty parking lot and have at it.
