MKS Sylvan Track with Retrogression Straps?

I'm new to my fixed gear and pedals. =)

I want to know if my MKS Sylvan Track will work with the Retrogression 'V1.5' platform pedal straps?

You'll be able to pull them through the pedals with pliers but the setup isn't ideal, as the lower straps will be closer together than they would be on platform-type pedals and cause the upper strap to flop forward - making it tricky to get your foot into while in motion.

aren't there platform style pedals that are narrower than full fledged bmx pedals that would work?

The Gr9s and similar pedals dont really work well for the same reason. The velco part of the straps are designed to go along the bottom part of a bmx pedal, so when you go with a narrower pedal it makes the whole strap curl up funny.

I'm not really supposed to let the cat out of the bag just yet but we've been working on a velcro strap that isn't as bulky and can be used with track pedals.

And....Less material means cheaper pricing????
Time to pull the trigger!

my buddy just got some of the origin 8 straps and put them on his mks gr9's. Doesn't work at all. They flop forward a ton, plus since the pedal is so narrow the straps have a lot of up give even when fully tightened down.

Snafu makes an Anorexic pedal that works with Holdfast style straps and is narrow and more ideal than using track pedals with cages on the streets.

Hey Dave, just put in an order. Sorry about the freewheel incident, man.

I know it was a total waste the first time but can you package that freewheel and cable cap along with the rest of my order?

Scrodzilla 07-17-11 05:36 PM

I was going to ask you, man. I'll throw that stuff in and have it in the mail tomorrow or Tuesday.

Cool. Good thing I took my time too. I might have walked out of here with some clear or glow in the dark Oury grips lol.

Oh ****.. sorry guys. I posted that in the wrong thread lol. That's what happens when you're on your phone.
