FG / SS Frame only

I'm looking for the frame only (maybe frame/fork) in the style of the BD bikes such as The Hour, The Clockwork, The Track, The Messenger - you know, the BD $299 bikes. I have all the components/wheels to complete the build, but wanted to try to find a frame like these so as to save some bucks. I'm thinking maybe a frame in the likes of these bikes would go for around $199 or so?... if someone sells just the frames that is. Thanks.

try bikeisland.com, they sell the BD framesets.

Scrod, didn't you used to own a Scrambler a while back?

Scrodzilla 07-16-11 12:22 PM

No. I had a Kilo though.

The Scrambler frameset is so meh.

Aha. How is Angie's 721 build going?

Thanks for the links!!

Yeah, that SST-AL for $159 seems like a good deal. The Scrambler looks good too, are they not liked much?

Awesome. She just needs to build wheels and then it's done. I think she's going with low spoke-count Aeroheads to Novatecs.

A friend of mine just bought a "scratch & dent" one for a discount (even though there was literally nothing wrong with it) and yeah, it's nothing special. It's pretty decent though. The fork, however, is worthy of throwing into the nearest body of water and forgetting about.

Can't wait to see it when she's finished!

Honestly if you have all the other components, save up a bit more cash and get a nicer frame. The frame is the heart of the build, and buying a nice frame will allow you to further upgrade as you see fit without putting components on a low quality frame.

Thanks for the reply, and I agree with you. However, budget hinders which is the reason for this thread. I'm sure I would appreciate a higher quality frame, but I'm a simple person and I know I would appreciate a BD style just fine as well.
