4130 Frame from ebay...
Hey sorry if their is a thread for this sort of thing already first time amidoinitrite?
anyway i was wondering if anyone has built on one of these suckers? my little brothers bike is soooo bad and he keeps stealing mine so i was looking into some cheap options since he works at walmart (he puts milk in the fridge like a boss) here is the frame any and all information is greatly appreciated! I'm by no means a bike guru but i sure do read me some sheldon brown and have a half decent tool set. ///macri |
seems like a deal to me if you are in the market for a cheap frame
How much money are you going to save over a BikesDirect bike once it's set up, if any at all?
Buy from bikesdirect. If you built it up using only the cheapest components, you still would spend more then a BD bike, and it would be lower quality. Also that is only drilled for a rear brake. Why someone would only drill for a rear I do not know..
Isnt this one of those lakehouse frames?
Are you from Vancoober?
hmm not too sure never used bikesdirect before... checking em out right now.
and yeah sure am, living out in abbotsford right now but i go back to school in van for january :D |

Look at the Kilo TT. One of the best bangs for your buck from BD
Thanks for the tip i was checking out windsor timeline and kilo wt5 i'll look into le tt, yeah i just went to a local shop for mine kind of told him what i was looking for and he built her up for me of course my milk fridge stocking brother doesn't have all that much cash so this works out great. damn kinda wish i went here for mine... i love my bike but damn hella deals...
Beware of absurd shipping costs to Canada, if they'll ship at all. I would contact BD and ask them.

Oh I didn't realize a complete bike is what you were after. If you need cheap Crosslake sales has some cheap completes on ebay, and there are the "damaged" bd bikes that pop up. I mean if you want to save money because your brother stocks milk shelves...
hmmm i could probably ship it to the ups store build it in the parking lot and ride it home lol how do their bikes come out of the box anyone know?
@vw addict: thanks, yeah saving cash is key here because is does in fact stock milk shelves... lel |
Bring some grease, lockring wrench, 15mm wrench, pump, standard hex sizes, cable cutter... should be good enough to get you across the border (assuming you're mechanically competent).
yeah i've built up a few ****ty bikes for tooling around on before. i'm guessing it comes with fork, stem and seat post attatched?
all you "need" to do if i remember correctly is attach the wheels and handle bars. You can do all the tinkering and adjusting once you get home
