Straight Chrome Fork

I've got a chrome '09 Pista without a fork and I'd like to get a chrome one to match. So far the only thing I've come across so far is this -> http://store.somafab.com/sostbltrfo.html. Anyone know of any other cheaper options? Also, I've never dealt with a threadless fork before, how should I go about determining the right length? I figure since the bike is a little small for me, it would be best to buy a fork with a longer steerer tube, to allow a higher stem position.

The only difference I see is that one of the soma forks has a 38mm rake, while the retrogression has a 41mm rake. how much does of a difference does 3mm make?

About as much difference as going from 700 x 25c tires to 700 x 28c tires.

FWIW - Here's a chrome Pista with Soma fork on NYC CL, if you were curious as to what it would look like (57cm frame). Not mine. Kinda sweet.

^^^ I love the way it's perched on some nice abrasive concrete.

isn't the oem pista fork like 28mm? going from 28 to ~40 will almost certainly be noticeable.

The old ones were. IDK about the newer ones, but I imagine they have more rake, since the HT angle has gotten considerably slacker.

i haven't had a chance to ride it with the stock fork, so hopefully it won't be a big deal.

Soma fork looks so much better!
