Newbie questions about brake levers.

I'm getting a nitto bullhorn rb-18 for my IRO single/fixed, so i need new brake levers. I was searching and came across these origin 8 cyclocross brake lever https://store.nexternal.com/icycles/...ite-p5614.aspx, will they work for me?

what is the difference between the cyclocross levers versus top bar levers?

What levers do you have now?

The levers you linked would work, but the adapter is a shim, so you might as well get levers with a 26mm clamp for your 26mm bars.

The difference between the names might just be the name. Post some examples if you want more.

Thanks Scodzilla.

I have another question about brake cables. What I want to do is not give up my drop bar and drop down brake lever but want a bullhorn to switch between them from time to time, so i need anew set of brake cable for the new brake lever. I'm looking for a cable housing kit. Does this work and have everything I need? https://store.icyclesusa.com/shimano-...ck-p45765.aspx

Wrong cable end. You'll need a road cable, not mountain.

Your best bet is going to your lbs for cables and the housings come in a roll - they can cut whatever length you need.
