Everyone seems to like everything about it but the looks. If you like the looks it may be the bike for you. Do a search, its been covered in depth.

I bought the 2005 pista over a month ago, have logged about 500 miles on it since. As far as the looks are concerned.. yeah, well, you either dig the retro thing or you don't. Granted, it's a "classic" look that lacks lugs and is manufactured in Taiwan, which undoubtedly has purists rolling their eyes. The chrome scratches at the slightest touch of metal (U-lock tip barely touched the goddam thing), so you kinda have to get over that. It's flashy, no doubt, and it may [will] attract [unwanted] attention. I'm one of the 4 fixed gear riders (that I've ever seen) in Providence RI, and I feel secure enough to leave mine locked up (no, really, I do). The silver saddle it comes with is the first thing to go. The thing costs 20 bucks and is gaudy as hell. Sold mine to a guy who put it on his BMX and put a Storika on it to complete the retro look. Everything else in the kit is pretty butter tho, good for the money, specially in 05. One of the more noticable upgrades from the 04 are the tires. I can change mine in a fraction of the time it takes my roomy, who has last year's model. I have no regrets about the purchase, it's been nothing but good to me.

I think the white panels look great. I think the stamped dropouts suck. I think the crank upgrade is a nice touch. I still think the fork looks like crap. I think adding steel drops was a classy move.

As for the Storika... I originally wanted a Brooks. No hesitation on the Brooks, but the Storika swayed me the moment I saw it. The very reasons Phatty mentioned, plus the look. It's really really comfortable, 'specially for a racing saddle. Everyone gives me **** about it looking too "S&M", but I actually like that. The only drawback I've found so far are the two gouges I've put into the leather somehow, can't figure how I managed to do that. But screw it, the thing looks better with a little wear and tear.
