TK2 conversion from track to single speed

Alreet,

Just wondering if anyone can help me.

Ive got a TK2 and im wanting to convert to single speed, can aanyone recommend a good set of wheels with braking surface for this, dont want to pay over £400ish, i was looking at mavic ellipse but ive been told that they dont have a braking surface.
Also wanting to change the bars to a set of easton deltaforce carbonns, anyone tried these or have better recomendations? Cheers

Mick

these would work

why dont you try a front brake and fixed gear? i just got a tk3 1 month ago and got the hang out of the fixed gear pretty quickly...plus converting such a nice track frame into a full SS would cost more than pimping your current ride...

Maybe I'm wrong, but can't you just take off the fixed cog, install a freewheel, and run two brakes with cork pads on whatever rims it has now?

sort of off topic... how do you pronounce these bikes name? like a Mk2 volkswagen is mark 2, are these tech 2's or tee kay 2's?

It's still going to rub the paint or whatever off of the rim, and the stopping power will probably be pretty meh.

It works well, you won't notice a difference, mostly the machined surface looks cleaner.

Save yourself the $$ get a front brake only

I just ordered this yesterday for my Pinerallo, I might even use it on my Pogliaghi. It looks pretty good, I'll see how well it works.

I was thinking of doing that but i would rather get a decent set of new wheels with flip-flop hub and have a proper braking surface, at least that way i can either hang onto the wheels that come with the TK2 or sell the felt wheels in tip top condition, i wouldnt get as much for them if i damage the stickers etc from braking. :)
