Newbie

Hey guys, I've recently gotten an interest for a commuter single speed bike and have been browsing the local craigslist to see if I could find any deals. I have been mountain biking for a while now but know nothing about these bikes so I could use a little help. I've recently came across a bike that I am interested in but don't know anything about the bike.. Can any of you see what type of bike this is and if it's worth anything? seller doesn't know the brand and is asking 280obo.. Thanks!

These pictures do suck but that's all the seller sent me.

whatever you do OP do not buy that bike... it looks like a totally generic cheap chinese made frame... made by a company called micargi I think

Yea, we had some spammers here advertising them.

For $280 you should just buy a Motobecane Track or Windsor Hour from BikesDirect.

If, for some reason, you're worried about the assembly... it's really easy and is a good opportunity to get some wrenching in.

Thanks for the recommendations! Will probably just go that route then and know that I'm getting a new bike instead of the risk involved with buying used. And as far as assembly, I'm very comfortable as I do all of the repairing, replacing, servicing on my mountain bikes. Thanks again

Given your background, I'm guessing you want some combination of brakes and foot retention.

Most importantly don't forget to tighten the cog & lockring before you ride!

If you want single speed, get something with 2 brakes. If you want a fixed gear, just a front brake is ok.

I definitely wouldn't pay $280 for the bike in the OP. Generic junk most likely.

I'm confused as to why the answer isn't Kilo TT. I'm pretty sure it's Kilo TT.
