If you've got the moola and want the best for urban / street riding, then get these suckas >>> http://www.benscycle.net/index.php?m...oducts_id=8356

Oh, and they're a lot cheaper here >>> http://www.universalcycles.com/shopp...s.php?id=31102

What's wrong with MKS? I'd say GR-9s personally, never used them, but a lot of people seem to like them.

Hey guys, should I make bass or halibut for dinner today?

hairnet 08-14-11 05:36 PM

I ride for the halibut

homebrewk 08-14-11 05:45 PM

Yup, halibut sounds good to me.

Scrodzilla 08-14-11 06:34 PM

Wellgo RO-25B FTW. Sealed bearings, small size and much more comfortable than Sylvans.

Leukybear 08-14-11 07:05 PM

Cool, halibut it is! :D

max5480 08-14-11 07:08 PM

don't forget to buy some good straps!

Haha oh god people on these forums are hilarious. I think I'll go with the White Industries because i like to buy the most expensive things lol. And I'll definitely be buying Hold Fast straps duhhh.

I'll be honest, I have no idea what the **** you want.

You want them to be track pedals, but not clipless or MKS. People ride clipless on the track. The only other 'track' pedal is something like a Sylvan, but that's MKS. I guess you want All City or Wellgo? Why not MKS? If it's because of look, you're not getting a track pedal that doesn't look like something MKS makes.

His not worth your/ our time.

Just let him have his white industries & hold fast combo.

hamfoh 08-14-11 11:42 PM

justin ige 08-15-11 12:54 AM

Also, I don't think hold fasts play nicely with those WI's.

Also, what's your deal with MKS if you already ride them? If it's a comfort issue, I get it, but if you don't really notice it that much now, then I'm confused. I mean I get component-lust just as much as the next guy, but I'm constantly blown away by how many people insist on fixing things that aren't even broken.

redpear 08-15-11 01:24 AM

I doubt OP has even tried GR9s and is already discounting MKS.

Flash_BeeZy 08-15-11 02:53 AM

Scared of clipless?

Pshh once I tried them I'll never go back.

Clipless is Soo much better

Why do you recommend these over Gr-9s?

edit: oh OP is being dumb.

That being clarified, do you still prefer the wellgos to Gr-9s?

hamfoh 08-15-11 10:02 AM

haven't you heard? scrod is a weight weenie now and the wellgo's are 60grams lighter!

Scrodzilla 08-15-11 10:15 AM

I like the Wellgos over GR-9s because I found that my size 12 feet would hang over the outer edge of GR-9s and create a weird hot spot on my foot on long rides and my pinky toe would become numb and/or throb. Despite the RO-25Bs looking so small, I've had no issues with them at all and sealed cartridge bearings are a definite plus.

I have made a mental note of this for future pedal upgrade reference. I wear 11.5 but my feet are wide, so I probably will have the same problem with the GR-9's
