Let's talk drivetrain
Currently running:
Dodici Special frame Miche Primato Advanced Track crankset (46T/165mm) Shimano UN54 BB 68x110 Resist cog Ok so here is my issue. The crankset came with the Miche BB (68x107mm) The spindle was too short and the crank arm hit the chainstays Went up to the LBS and picked up the Shimano. Fit better. Got everything put together and noticed a pretty gnarly hotspot in the chainring. See video: Would this problem come from running the Shimano BB, which is JIS, on the Miche cranks which are ISO? Could the chainring really be that out of round? |
could help:
see part about centering chainwheels |
Also, looks to me like your chain has a tight link.
|
I have the same problem with my Omniums. Try using a different chainring and see if that solves the problem

Center your chainring. Also, it's not uncommon for a cog to be slightly out of round.

stiff links generally don't work themselves out after a quick ride
|
You also set chain tension at the tight spot so that way your chain doesnt bind as you ride.
|
OP - get one of these, and you'll end stiff chain links forevah

Ya I use one of these little ones
http://www.parktool.com/uploads/thum...d0_430x390.jpg Works ok, but always get a stiff link for a little after putting the chain back together. While we're talking chains, what is everyone using for lube? I was using this: http://tfe.me/image/480_345/LU2805.jpg Makes such a mess and builds up life a mofo |

I use this:
