...and everything went great. I have been at school all day so I haven't had time to do anything but put it together. I am now ready to pass out. As much as I want to go on a night ride I fear I might fall asleep at the wheel. More updates to come. I just want to say that everything you hear about Tony at IRO is true. The guy has amazing service.

I guess it's pretty obvious that I was trying to make as much of the bike black as possible. The IRO hubs with Velocity Deep V rims in all black with black spokes are brilliant.

Did you order the black components from Tony, or get those yourself? That's a dead sexy bike! I think I need to write to Tony and hook one of these up...

That was all Tony. I told him what I wanted and he came through like a ****ing champ. Nevermind the cheap bmx pedals on it in the photo. Those won't stay on. The pedals and bars are going to be the first thing changed once things swing my way.

You can PM me if you don't want to share this info publicly, but may I ask what you've got on there, and how much it set you back?

Thats a rad mark V. Flip the stem over, or not, but actually do.

NICE!!! that's a good deal. I've been thinking about getting one of these for my brother for christmas but I'm not sure if I'll have the money by then. I've heard nothing but good things regarding the mark V and I'm sure you'll be no exception.
Congradulations!

I couldn't help myself - I emailed Tony about putting together another one in all-black. I promise I'll do something to set it apart so I'm not TOTALLY ripping yours off, but DANG that's hot!

Why do you suggest flipping the stem over?

I got around to flipping the stem over tonight after class and it was a huge improvement. Looks and comfort. Well, comfort from what I can tell while sitting in a trainer. It has rained nonstop since friday here and it is forecasted until sunday at least. I am not used to this in Texas. Tomorrow I am hoping to go get the new bars for it. Syntace or Profile aero.

Well, almost golden.
The only real option I know in this circumstance would be to get a Chris King 1 1/8" Devolution headset that allows you to use a 1" fork. This would then need the King Gripnut conversion kit which would allow you to use it with a threaded 1" fork.
This would all cost you about $150 and potentially look kind of odd IMO. Big steer tube, little stem = Fugly?
For the money you should get a Nitto fillet-brazed & chromed threadless stem. It will look nearly as good as a nice quill.
And Keneth - nice bike.

You Texans ever heard of fenders?
Shoot, if we didn't ride in the rain here in the NW then there wouldn't be much riding to be done. Its actually quite enjoyable, you should try it out while you have the chance.
