Looking for budget wheelset - advice?

The title says it all. City grounds has some deep-v's for almost half off, but the sidewalls aren't machined (which would be ideal). What wheelsets do you guys ride?

I'd be nice to keep the price under 200, but throw out whatever - I'm pretty open minded right now.

And yes, aerospokes are out of the question.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks so much, that's exactly what I was looking for. I've never heard to velomine before - but they very well might be the next place I order something from

Velomine is awesome. They hand build their wheels and their customer service rules.

Idk about everyone else, but Amelias WERE $99 for the wheel, tires, tubes, strips and cog SHIPPED....ppl say they aren't the best, but ive been mashing the **** out of them and i havent had prblems. So you could do that and invest in new tires (mine are just beginnign to wear). You make your own choice though.

Just spend the extra dough for any of the wheelsets above. The Deep V's are almost $200 though but the CPX22's and the M13's are both close to $100. Trust me, you will appreciate the quality of both those wheels. Not that Amelias aren't bad but Mavics rule.

I have to agree. For only a little more money, you get a wheelset that will most likely end up lasting a lot longer.

Exactly. It will most likely save you money in the long run because you will end up servicing and/or replacing a lower-end wheelset when you can buy a nice one and not have to worry about having to deal with it often.

Thanks for the advice guys - I just ordered a set of deep v's.

Figured I'd spend a little more dough than the cheapest I could find, after all I'm replacing a busted cheap-o set of wheels anyway!

I have some M13's on my current ride. I was a little worried about strength but so far they have been holding up nicely
