homebrewk 08-27-11 04:00 PM

Cool.

Scrodzilla 08-27-11 04:01 PM

Meh. This has always served me well enough to not need a fancy-shmancy tool:

Is a stubby 15mm wrench really too heavy to bring along on a ride?

Well, the one that I have is a bit on the heavy side, a hand me down from my mechanic friend. I think it may be a bit silly carrying it aroudn in a jersey pocket haha.

Sixty Fiver 08-27-11 08:27 PM

Depends on the bike... with the '55 Raleigh I just use my bare hands but for the Gran Sport I carry a PDW peanut butter wrench in my kit or a 6 inch adjustable.

redpear 08-27-11 10:54 PM

This is silly. Tools aren't for fashion. Tools are tools.

Lies, the titanium doesn't weigh nothing, it actually has negative mass; your bike gets lighter the more titanium you have on it.

Carbon fiber works the same way, only moreso.

Snap on wrench. Made in the USA.

Craftsman, not, these days.

seriously. Weight isn't really an issue for most wrenches.

Personally, I use a cool little lo-profile ratchet from gear wrench: http://www.gearwrench.com/catalog/xl...m/gearratchet/

The sockets have a pass-thru design that allows for access to long bolts without a deep socket. Pretty lightweight, and a ratchet is more convenient vs wrench imo.

If you want to spend too much money:

Obviously not for the road but I figured what we were after was tool pr0n.
