Newbie ****** needs wheel/hub identification help

I have searched the forums and can't seem to grasp what I'm looking at/for.

In the bike porn thread there were two bikes posted that had wheel sets and hubs that I just loved. Here they are:

The bike I'd like to put them on is my 07 Bianchi Pista:

Can you guys tell me exactly what and where to buy either of these wheels sets that I could install onto my bike? From my searching it seems the red bike had to have a spacer on the rear to account for the lack of gears. So do I need to source the hubs and build the wheels as pieces or can I buy them as is?
Also was thinking of adding a pair of thick slick tires to either of these wheels sets; good idea or faux pas?

Those hubs were custom designed for those manufacturer prebuilt wheelsets. Those wheelsets are quite vintage and quite hard to come by these days (they cost a lot when new and therefore not so many people were available to afford them). Worse, is due to the fixed gear hype, people are willing to overpay/ overcharge more for them despite their age.

Not sure about the 1st bike's shimano wheelset but I know for sure the the cannondale track below it has campagnolo shamals from the late 80's/ early 90's.

just get a set of bontragers and save yourself a fist full of cash and heartache.

I hear arrospoks are nice.

Those wheels are sick though. Are there some modern ones that are similar?

Shimano does but not campy... they have far evolved their wheels compared to those. You'll have to deal with excessive decals nonetheless with both modern versions.

Leukybear-

Thanks for the education. I had no clue at all.

No problem. Forgot to add but you could have some luck with the shimano version of the wheels you posted earlier by searching up "shimano 16 spoke wheel". ;)
