Is that a freewheel?
EDIT: Okay, I'm pretty sure that's a freewheel. This bike really confuses me. Those dropouts with that geo? The most aggressive single speed evar?

I definitely agree with you Scrod, I just think the whole thing is beyond my comprehension. I've definitely seen bikes that suck before, but a Merckx? Damn.

This bike was probably inspired by some over-enthusiastic one-month "veteran" sweet fixie rider's email to Merckx HQ.
At least it wasn't a "collabo" with some blog, hipster boutique, or shoe company.

I've seen that bike before here.
Only 20 will be available in the UK with an anticipated retail price around £1100. Available Spring 2012.
$1,750?! The wheels, chain, cranks, bars, stem, seatpost, and saddle can all be bought for less than $500 at retail prices. Anybody who is willing to drop almost 2 large on this bike is not going to use ANY of those components that come with it.

Not only is it just the ugliest bike ever made, especially considering the beautiful bikes that Merckx (post #40), but srsly, who the hell would ride that thing???? If you know how great Eddy Merckx was that you want to ride a bike with his name on it, you should also know that the bike doesn't make any sense, because a) it's stupid, and b) it's stupid.
