+1 I really don't see the point of a Cinelli with no decals.

Adrian_ 09-24-12 09:57 PM

Could be a prototype they don't want to reveal yet so it was left decal-less. Just like how some car companies black out their prototypes so features aren't shown when testing on the track.

I am the source, sort of.

They're prototypes and were unpainted raw aluminum. They've both been spray painted. The green one is Chas' that I took off his instagram. This blue one is Walton's which I took picture of with my own phone.

Here is the frame without paint:

This is a picture I took after Walton let me ride it around the block:

Figured the green one was from Chas. Also I think raw aluminum with "Cinelli" written in black marker should be one of the available colorways.

not impressed...

Points lost for filling the welds with bondo.

Nothing new considering the revered laser has the stuff too.

wonder why they left the C all white. they would've made those colorways pretty nice

hamfoh 09-25-12 02:16 PM

who was that guy who turned his mash stem into a silver stem? want

Here's the lowdown I got from speaking with Walton:
Lost (found perhaps? haha) in translation was bondo, it's not suppose to be there
No longer pursuit top tube
Less steep seat tube to accommodate UCI regulations
Fork with less rake
Tapered fork/headtube
Seatstays will be thinner and not thicken/flatten
27.2 seatpost

The seatstays and top tube were not the tubes they spec'd and bondo was there for no reason. It's a prototype, so it's whatever.

max5480 09-25-12 03:02 PM

meh, don't see why they couldn't just give the vigorelli a tapered headtube and kept the mash with a pursuit top tube... then again, it is kind of pointless to have pursuit top tube if everyone uses spacers or risers. i just don't see any significant innovation so might as well have left it the way it is.

it is like bianchi going from pista concept to super pista; a much more generic bike taking the place of something with originally clean and elegant lines.

hamfoh 09-25-12 03:12 PM

maybe everyone wanting pursuit was buying histograms. there's 5 in my neighborhood alone

This is kinda true. Switching to a more conventional geometry makes it a much more palatable frame.

I think i saw this from Chas - TCB Courier instagram.
If i'm not mistaken he just repainted his current mas frame, but i might be wrong.

Turn out i'm mistaken, thanks for clearing things up TheRealFaux
