Triple triangle frames
What frames have the triple triangle?
I know gt, derosa, And a hand full of polish and taiwanese frames have them, But what other companies have the triple triangle frame? http://www.lockedcog.com/uploads/2009/12/nempro4.JPG http://prollyisnotprobably.com/2010/...PINP-thumb.jpg Hate that brake bridge. http://www.pedalconsumption.com/arch...e_triangle.jpg Personal fan of jan's work. Very small image of a nempro built up by TCB owner Chas. I believe he won it at Rad Massakar:

I know we're talking about triple triangle frames, and this one is nice, but the bars make this deserving of a jackass thread cross post.

You see those pretty frequently on legit TT bikes. It always looked goofy to me too but I assume it's a sensible setup for some specific purpose/position.

Vergeing on bum bars. Plus biopace...say what???
Them old school TT bars run a premium. |

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3082/...910ef60f08.jpg http://www.globalgraphica.com/wp-con...ial-design.jpg It was sensible setup for Laurent Fignon in the 80's prior to Greg LeMond's "new" TT bar setup that was equally ugly http://fastrunrobbie.files.wordpress...ent-fignon.jpg |
So, what's the deal with triple triangle frames? They look soooo cool but is there specific reason they are designed like that?
|
I'm sure it's relative to stiffening the frame ... perhaps we should ask Pythagoras
