Typical 'Merican Thanksgiving fare over at my sister-in-law's house - Turkey, stuffing, twice-baked potatoes, pumpkin pie, etc.

Everyone seems to have differing experiences with chains but my favorites - and ones I've found to be most silent - are the KMC K710SL and Devil 101 (which I'm currently using on all my bikes). Drivetrain noise also depends greatly on what cog and chainring you're using though.

I got a Dura-Ace cog, not sure how silent that is, but I'm sure it will last long. I'll probably look into either one of those chains.

Spring for the Devil. It's a little pricey but you will thank me.

Dear Scrod,

Please convince me not to buy one of coghouse's closeout leader* dodici garas from ebay for $235 (BIN but I can pick up w/ shipping waived).

8bits 11-22-12 01:07 PM

that's cheap!

My problem exactly. I don't want one but the price is killing me considering they were once astronomical.
But then I remembered scrod mentioned something about them being inferior stock which might be the only savior for my wallet.

BigglyPuff 11-22-12 01:32 PM

Same here, I've had the item window open in my browser for a while.

This might be the Leader 722 TS of 2012.

solipsist716 11-22-12 01:43 PM

^ Same.

Muffin Man 11-22-12 01:50 PM

When you had your kagero was there anything you didn't like about it? I'm only asking because coghouse ebay has em for $549 and i'm tempted to pick one up.

Scrodzilla 11-23-12 07:29 PM

I liked everything about it but the saddle to bar drop was a bit much for me.

I'm apparently slower than I thought, but when did Scrod become a not-admin?

It was recent. I wanted to enjoy hanging out here again.

calv 11-23-12 07:41 PM

I want to expand my tool set and equipment, can you recommend any must have tools? I was thinking about a repair stand and a torque wrench.

When a moderator tells you to refrain from posting in a thread (as Siu did in post #6168), stay gone.

I can see how being a moderator takes some of the fun of being yourself and flushes it down the toilet in exchange for being deputy Interweb.

A repair stand is necessary, a torque wrench is not.

The Park PCS-10 is awesome for home use.

calv 11-23-12 11:17 PM

Of course Bens would have it sold out for their black friday sale.

Scrodzilla 11-24-12 07:30 AM

I know a guy who can get you a good deal on one but the shipping cost is a *****.

Hey Scrod,

What should I do about the hot yoga teacher chick who turned me down for a date but keeps wanting to talk me up every time we run into each other?

Hardup Pirate

hamfoh 11-24-12 07:04 PM

edit; disregard. email in other thread answered it!

Mumonkan 11-24-12 10:26 PM

assuming you partake in the consumption of sriracha:

do you know of any good ones that can be found in stores?
