Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? Tell me about it. I have lower back issues so severe that I can't get within eight inches of touching my toes. That is why you see the bars on my bikes set very high. When I ride on the drops, my back angle is about 45 degrees, instead of the normal flat back of someone with good lower back flexibility. When I'm racing, I push just as much air as someone who is a foot taller than me. Needless to say, I always sucked at time trials.

I suppose in that situation, what works for me may not be the best for someone else.
I tried that position and it was causing me all kinds of wrist pains. I wonder if a shorter stem would have resolved some of that?

Hey Scrod,

What is the latest eta for the RG kit and Bojac T-shirt ? Also, am I good for the order that I placed for the Conti GP 4-Season in 700x32c ?

Thanks,
TT

This has probably been beaten to death, but what's the best way to choose a saddle? I don't want to just keep buying them until I find one I like.

I have a Selle italia X1 right now, but I don't really love it. Debating spending the money on a Brooks Cambium C13.

Excellent point, but I've found that many test saddles available at most shops don't appeal to the vast majority of fixed gear riders coming into my shop.
