Ok, moving ON from the pukefest...

I've been reading a bit more about these Pista Concepts. Some are saying the walls are pretty thin and prone to dents? Also, problems with the integrated seat post clamp (seat post cracking). I'm wondering if it's a better idea to resell this (I got it at a great price) and get something like a Felt TK2/3 instead (complete). Will these be any more/less durable than the PC? Or are those problems listed above blown out of proportion? I'm not going to be doing any city/commute riding where I'll be locking up the bike.

max - I don't have pics yet, but will try to post some pics.

everythings good except any masi coltello.

downward sloping top tubes get minus points, but its no masi.

First, you guys are too harsh on the Coltello. It's a great looking bike.

Second, the Pista Concept is an awesome bike because it looks so good. I don't think a Trek or Specialized or whatever will perform any better, that is, unless you perceive yourself doing better because you like it more.

one must have ones code.

Coltello looks nice in catalogue photos: http://i712.photobucket.com/albums/w...i_coltello.jpg

Looks like crap IRL: http://velospace.org/files/VelospaceMASI-.jpg

compare to the concept:http://www.pedalroom.com/p/2005-bian...cept-740_4.jpg

I love how much adriano hates Masi.

I saw a Coltello up close and personal when a Masi/Haro rep brought one by the shop for me to check out. I was pretty surprised at how nice I thought it was and honestly don't think it's as bad as some people make it seem. The welds were clean, the finish was awesome and it rode really well.

yeah i've seen a couple in real life, and they look great

Ahhh, I see now. That's a nice frame. Those overdone, oversized logos are indeed a turnoff though.

Didn't you want something without track geo? This thread went from wabi and cannondale capo to coltellos and pcs.

Yeah, you're right. But I couldn't find any aluminum "track" frames with road-ish geo. I really like the geo of my Steamroller. In comparison, it's not too far off of the PC, but we'll see. Starting the build today.

get the wabi lightning then

phsycle 09-22-11 08:31 PM

I wanted to test out the frame. So I borrowed the bar, stem, wheels, cranks from my steamroller. I did end up finishing it, cut the steerer tube, etc. I really like it. I'll go for a long ride this weekend to thoroughly test it out.

Don't mind the ugly colors. Again, just test pieces.

I did weigh it and with those heavy wheels, it came in at 16.4 lbs. Can't spend too much on wheels, so I'm going with Mavic Open Pro's and Formula hubs. Cranks will probably be Sugino 75.

nice man that's going to be sweet
don't forget to check out KInlin rims/ wheels (retro-gression has them), they might be lighter than OP to formula. i've been super happy with them.
