circa 1940 Schwinn Paramount Project

I've been looking for an early Paramount track bike for several years and a rough frameset showed up on eBay in July. I bought it and sent it to Waterford for a correct resto. UPS delivered it Wednesday, and the work done by Waterford is phenomenal.

The geometry held some surprises. The fork rake is an incredible 55mm, the chain stays are a lengthy 450mm, the STA is pretty slack 72.2 and the HTA is 73.7. Wheelbase is 1040mm (23", or 58.4cm c-t frame). The trail is 41mm.

Here are some pictures and the BikeCAD drawing I did after measuring the frame.

As received from eBay seller:

Thanks, all. It should be finished in a couple of weeks. More pictures and a ride report then...

It's finished except for a few final touches. Total weight as shown is 19.92 pounds, which isn't too bad for a bike with a seventy year old frame and mostly vintage components.

Actually, I'm embarrassed to say. In round numbers it cost a little north of $3k ($1k for the frameset on eBay, a little over $1k for the Waterford dent repair and paint, and a little over $1k for everything else, mostly by bargain hunting on eBay. The most expensive bits were the vintage Campy hubs and pista crankset. The stem is actually brand new; it's the Livery Design Gruppe Stainless Adjustable Quill Stem.
