Any thoughts on this frame? Been thinking of building one up as a beater.
Seems pretty heavy @ 6.7lbs with fork. Just wondering what you guys think about it.

Now they're just trying too hard.

Scrodzilla 10-20-11 09:52 PM

Too hard and not hard enough, simultaneously.

Entrymax 10-20-11 10:16 PM

Seems like an ldg pursuit knockoff

cc700 10-20-11 10:18 PM

at least the dropouts are sexy. the dropouts and the brake mounts are the only thing wrong with the concept knockoff frame. THE ONLY THING WRONG. i miss that bike more than i miss my nashbar, schwinn, or redlines. almost as much as my kona.

Thanks for reminding me how much I want to build one of these.

It doesn't look too bad if you look at it as a artsy/ funny bike... I would ride it.

Soon enough the nonconformists will be putting ViSP stickers on their bianchis.

I want to see one of the ViSP triple tri frames built up.

if you don't mind your bike looking like a pile of ****
then buy it.

EpicSchwinn 10-21-11 02:10 AM

If you rotate it the way it would be if it were on wheels you can tell that it's both an upward and downward sloping top tube. Ugly all around. Maybe better with a 650c in front?

A 650 in front would make for some pretty steep angles.

I'd ride that triple triangle visps if it weren't for the top toob decals... it would look nice raw though. :innocent:

Aren't VISP decals removable (unless they changed it)?

You know I wouldn't mind getting one of triple triangle frames to beat around but whats with their new frames only coming in 3 sizes? 56cm max...really?!? Their old 725 ripoffs at least came in a ton of sizes =/

aeroBLOKE 10-22-11 08:22 AM

my mate just purchased a triple tri and we have some problems. anyone know the measurements for:
Seatube Diameter
Headset Dimensions
Seat Post binder size

cheers

Did a quick calculation of how much it would change the looks of it. If anyone expects this to get anywhere close to looking like one of the sweet sloping TT funny bikes it's going to take a very short 650c fork. The way the downtube humps up makes the wheel/dt gap look awkward enough with a 700c so the fork would probably need to be super low rake as well. After all that, the bottom bracket will have dropped below tarck standards (literally).

/pessimism and bitternes that I probably will never get a sweet pursuit/tt frame for as cheap as the visp.
