This frame would make a unique fixie.

I bet their aren't to many fixed Huffy's around town.
If I had the cash to build up another one I'd grab it.

"buy it now" for $10!

pitboss 12-04-04 10:08 PM

does the BB shell look big enough for an aircraft carrier to pass through?

ryan_c 12-04-04 10:26 PM

Opc?

pitboss 12-04-04 10:27 PM

Old Pretty Crappy???

habitus 12-04-04 10:30 PM

huffy dropouts scare me.

pitboss 12-04-04 10:33 PM

they're not stamped...they're "pushed together as hard as we could."

emayex 12-05-04 12:03 AM

sadly, I have a fixed gear Huffy Superstar.... yes, it is my shame... and its fun to ride. Stop judging me!

ryan_c 12-05-04 12:43 AM

Hey DCC, anyone remember the story behind that "Huffy" track frame at Yojimbo's?
It was a really nice (honest-to-goodness), well-made track frame with the Huffy logo on it.

MKRG 12-05-04 12:51 AM

I remark to myself "How odd it is that one with a nice repair stand would even pull a Huffy from the trash, much less buy one." Really if you think about it the stand probably costs 3x what the bike cost yet he bought the bike for its components? Whatever...

labratmatt 12-05-04 01:08 AM

Dear god. I thought Huffy restricted themselves to bringing down the mountain bike industry. I've never seen a Huffy road bike. I wonder if it would take more than 5 skid stops to yank those dropouts right out of the frame.

There was a guy in Boston that had one. I remember hm telling me that Serotta made the frames for them. Cool ass frame.

MKRG 12-05-04 01:11 AM

Yeah but that auction isn't one of the Serotta "Huffys" is it? I would like to see one of those.

labratmatt 12-05-04 01:11 AM

Oh yeah, two more points:

1. I love the auction title - "56 cm Huffy road bike frame - GReAT -" Why is it a lower case e? It's almost great, but just lacking "shift e" greatness.

2. I wonder if that big a$s kick stand comes with the frame.

MKRG 12-05-04 01:14 AM

Never mind. I'm sorry. I looked at the auction again and came to the conclusion that it was incredibly stupid of me to even look at that again. It is after all very unlikes that anything of quality would have "press-in bottom bracket cups".

Bigwheel 12-05-04 01:54 AM

Is the kickstand mounted permanantly to the frame?

What company made the Huffys that Greg Lemond used to ride?

kurremkarm 12-05-04 05:16 AM

Nothing wrong with it, if someone gave it to me i might build it up as a commuter. Think the 35 bucks shipping kills the deal though.

odd-
it is in my blog pic. Serrota made these frames for the Huffy team. Marcus was explaining it yesterday to some guy picking up his new fix.
Still haven't moved the toothbrush...

econobot 12-05-04 09:53 AM

Did anyone notice that the guy stripped the bike down for parts on another ride? What would that be, a Magna road bike?

kurremkarm 12-05-04 05:17 PM

No, he's prolly selling a bianche or something with the parts from this bike.

dminefield 12-05-04 10:00 PM

My friend wants to build an all campy fixie, paint it pink and put "huffy" on the side... har har. I guess he doesn't want anyone to steal it...
