Cray.

When you had your green one how did it ride? Twitchy, stiff, noodly, light?

It felt extremely nimble and maneuverable. Pedal strike never felt like an issue and it rolled smooth as butter yet still very responsively.

And yes, dashicray lol. I think the deep rims will stiffen up the ride a lot.

HI,

Not 100% sure if i should post in here or start a new thread , but figured it was worth a try .

I was looking at the Soma ES in a 66cm Frame , I mentioned this to a friend and he believes there would be to much flex in such a large Cromo frame. Then again he is lucky if he clocks in over 5 foot tall .

So i was wondering if anyone has tried the larger 62+ frames from them ?

Thanks

Maybe look at their San Marcos frameset. The larger sizes have a double top tube for increased stiffness

This came in the mail the other day! Can't wait to start piecing it together. I was kind of hoping it would be the current generation, but they sold it to me at a steep discount so I'd be looking a gift horse in the mouth if I tried to exchange it. I'll still probably buy one of their modern headbadges for it.

Soma sold me a frameset at a steep discount as a crash replacement. I assumed it was going to be a current one but it turned out to be the old style. As far as we know, is the only difference the dropouts and the graphics?

Not as many Pakes in here as Somas. Is the Rum Runner considered to be a nice value frame?

Love this one from their website:

True, it's the French 75, which looks nice also. I like the colors, etc.

Absolutely. They're nothing fancy but are made well (in Taiwan, not China) and every one I've seen/sold/built had nice looking welds and great paint.

Assuming you still have it somewhere, have you thought about salvaging the headbadge from your wrecked one? It can act as a good luck charm or memento of it. I believe you can just take dental floss and slide it under the badge to displace the adhesive.

USe a hairdryer for a few minutes about 8 inches away at low heat. SLide the floss behind it and it peals off like butter. Assuming its Double Sided tape.

Love this one from their website:
I wish they revised the F75 and made the dropout plates on both sides. The traditional straight tubing gives it a real clean look

If the plates were double sided, and if the fork was matte as well, I would have bought a black one the day they came out.

Have there been instances of the dropouts getting munched up? Or is having the reinforcement just a precaution?
