Unknown Bike Co.

Anyone heard of these people? I can't find a geo chart, but the bike sort of appeals to me.

Yeah, that was a month ago. No geo charts in a blog post or on their shop site.

calv 12-02-11 10:35 PM

Whoops, for some reason I thought today was tomorrow and this month was last month...

Unknown is known more for their fgfs frames I think these are the first of their non-fgfs, so there isn't much info on them yet. If anything just email them and ask.

-1 track end plates only on the outside

Unknown Bike Co has been around for a while and has received a lot of crap for ripping off other companies' product designs. There was a story of them totally copying a chainring design a while back that got them into some hot water.

That frame doesn't look too shabby but if I wanted to ride a Leader, I'd just buy a Leader.

wearyourtruth 12-03-11 09:45 AM

^truth. just get a 735

ciy grounds just had it on sale yesterday for $175. Call them up, I bet they have the geo.
It's not a 735, the tubeset is completely different.
Get a Leader and don't buy UNKWN because they may have copied something... pot calling kettle black.

Scrodzilla 12-03-11 11:10 AM

That's not what I was saying, but alright.

Second link is their BMX frame?

chantymac 12-03-11 12:08 PM

Whoops my bad. Well I hope the first link was of some help.

Looks like a rebranded Leader...

Looks like, but it's not, obviously...

I was more or less trying to find out about the company in general. Scrod answered that.

Scrodzilla 12-03-11 02:21 PM

It seems they had really sketchy beginnings (like Leader) but it looks as though they may be trying to turn it around (also like Leader).

calv 12-03-11 02:26 PM

They're stealing Leaders formula for success!!

Scrodzilla 12-03-11 02:26 PM

The "Start off on the wrong foot and spend years trying to recover from it" method.

I hope you're joking, cause if not, you must be that guy that painted and decaled a 725 like a Bianchi Pista Concept and thought no one would be the wiser.

BoozyMcliverRot 12-05-11 01:12 AM

Geo is what you need to look at,crappy welds are still welds. It may n ot be pretty<but it will still be a solid ride.

Oh,6000 series or 7000 series is still uncomfortable for daily riding. just be happy you have a bike.

bmw 12-05-11 10:11 AM

Disgusting welds, just like tha Leader

Scrodzilla 12-05-11 10:29 AM

Where do you see "disgusting" welds anywhere on this page?

FakeFuji 12-05-11 12:19 PM

welds look really well finished to me, it looks like it would be a badass bike built up

Scrod you're feeding the trollz. C'mon dog, you're better than that!

Anyhoo, I saw their track frame today, and while the first thing I thought was "735" it's not. And it's cheaper than the 735

evangelinegale 12-05-11 10:09 PM

i dont see why anybodys arguing the difference between this frame and a 735 when we both know the only draw is that theyre both cheaper than an ftp or pista concept. next we can argue the difference between mcdonalds and wendys when in truth we want some carls jr.

cheaper ≠ bad product. boo. I wouldn't ride an FTP if you paid me. Only half of that last statement is a semi-lie, I'm broke.

evangelinegale 12-05-11 10:44 PM

maybe you could remedy your financial situation by finding someone willing to pay you to ride an ftp.
