Langster Bottom Bracket and Crankset
Hi,
I am starting a virgin build on a Langster Steel and I want to get the chainline right. Are there any known good configurations of bottom-bracket and cranks? Thanks! |
What spindle length you'll need depends on which crankset you plan on using.
For example, Sugino RD calls for a 103mm JIS square taper, Sugino 75 calls for a 109mm ISO square taper, IRD Definant calls for a 110mm JIS square taper, etc, etc, etc. |

No, those will all give you a 42mm chainline.

Thanks all. My current plan is to go with ...
- Sugino Messenger crankset - Sugino 68 x 103mm Standard JIS square taper BB |
You'll be good.

So, I was just about to pull the trigger on a Sugino Messenger crankset and their CBB-103 bottom bracket but I thought I would check out the Sugino home page first for a final spec-check and they seem to say that this will give a 45mm chainline! What gives? Here are the specs from their page ... can anyone explain? Thanks!
