Old Fuji mtb folder...considering getting and converting to SS
ok, found an old Fuji mtb in my local craigslist that folds...well, technically it rotates in half rather than folding on a hinge...for $45. Says it needs a few things and I'm thinking of buying it and converting it to ss use...for when I have to drive to work...it's primary use will be running local errands close to work on lunch breaks...
I'd probably end up (at first) taking off the derailleurs and just picking a set of gears I like...then getting proper 26" deep v's or even run the spare set of 700C wheels I have from my old road bike....(for that I'd run a cog and use spacers for chainline)..the rear's freehub'd...
Think this can be done cheap? BTW I know if I wanna run those 700's I'd have to get those Mavic V-brake adapters that raise the pivot point for the brake arms...

Still kicking.
I have one of those... So far it's in the projects that are stuck in neutral category.

anybody else here remember when they were giving away "mountain bikes" to you for smoking so much you would not have enough lung left to ride one?
