Issues installing BB7400

Hey. I just picked up a NOS Shimano DA BB-7400 and I ran into an issue with installing one of the cups. I need some six pin spanner and then possibly a Park BBT-7? Can someone tell me what kind of tool is needed to install that cup? Thanks!

Looks like you need a tool like the park tool hcw-5 lockring spanner.

Awesome. Thanks!

I am wrong. I misunderstood that picture, sorry. Hunting right now.

Okay, the tool you need is the HCW-4.

The HCW 5 will do the black lockring, but I think the BBT 7 will as well.

EDIT: to Clarify, the HCW 5 or BBT 7 will do that cup. The other cup will need the HCW 4.

Thank you! One more thing. I have a 109mm spindle but both sides looks exactly the same. It's unmarked so I had no idea which side is which. Would it just be trial and error with chainline or did I overlook something?

it's always a matter of trial and error with me, even if i know all the dimensions of the spindle. it's just too quick and easy to swap the spindle and try again if one side doesn't work out, for me.

measure from the bearing race to the end of the spindle, the drive side is usuallly longer
