So the MA3's are a good solid rim. I've been riding a set for over a year now and they've held up just fine. I know the Open Pros are slick and all, but they look about the same and the MA3's are plenty strong enough that you won't regret lacing them up.

On the other hand, the Superbe Pro's are nice hubs and you could be excused for splurging on some flash rims to go with them.

yep, i know, i know they are nice and probably deserve a good rim set but really is it going to make much of a difference? I also don't really want a stellar setup or anything just something to beat on and ride hard so maybe the MA3's will do...dammit can't decide but I want to ride soon...

There's nothing wrong with the MA3s. I use them on my fixie and they're great. No problems at all. When I bought my MA3s, I found a store online that sold open pros for about $45 each. Seemed very reasonable to me. Look around, you may be able to find low prices on the Open Pros, and if not, go with the MA3s.

If you want to venture away from Mavic, a lot of people on this forum speak highly of the Velocity rims. They seem nice.

I wouldn't be worried about the MA3 vs. Open Pro if you can't swing the OP. Nothing wrong with MA3.
