A little project I've been working on...

I've had some free time for the past two days (morning classes cancelled), so I've been playing around in Solidworks. I just finished this lugged track frame and wanted to share:

I can do any color lugs/tubes/outlining, so if anyone has a request I'd be glad to render one for you :)

I didn't model it, but it does look incomplete without it. I just added one:

Yowza! That looks awesome.

needs fork!

Drop outs look structurally weak.

Looks great!
I love the raw version more! *hint hint* :thumb:

It's in the works...I'm planning to model a complete bike.

I'm actually inclined to agree, but I haven't done any FEA. This is just for fun, so I'm not terribly concerned with safety factors and such.

The bottom of the bottom lug on the headtube needs to be round, not pointy.

Looks good.

Leukybear 03-09-12 02:28 PM

These would make a good fit.

nice one did you do an assembly of different part or just draw the whole thing, I was planing to do the same

JesusBananas 03-09-12 05:10 PM

Neat! But it really should be silver brazed instead of brass. ;)

It's an assembly...it would be more difficult to make as a single part.

I tried, but it didn't come out well--there's not enough contrast in the picture.

What was this done with? Apologies if it's been answered.

chainstays look super long, like a touring bike

Nagrom_ 03-09-12 10:38 PM

looks like it would also potentially have a lot of BB drop.

The geometry is straight from the Cinelli Supercorsa (not Supercorsa Pista)...the chainstays are 405mm.

Did a little bit more today:

I also made a fork, but I kinda hate it...I think I'm gonna start over on it.

This is actually the first bike I've modeled in Solidworks, but a Lo Pro or a triple triangle frame wouldn't be difficult.
