Hi there

So I've been lurking on this forum for about six months and finally decided make a profile. I've been riding road bikes casually for the last couple years, and I got a Windsor "the hour" for my first fixed just to see if I'd like riding fixed and I love it. In about 6 months I will be graduated and hopefully will have a real job, at which point I'd like to get a 725 that I will swap the majority of my parts to. I know my bike is far from perfect so please don't judge too harshly :D

Congrats on your bike! Enjoy your stay around here. I recommend a front brake, especially if you are new to all of this.

Hey don't worry... he's got a helmet for when he goes into oncoming traffic.

btw clean looking bike. I hate stickers though. Just my style.

Thanks for the responses. I don't want to start a brakes vs brakeless debate but I did have brakes for a couple months and ended up not even using them, I am super cautious when I ride and even though I do know how to skid, the majority of the time I can just use the strength of my legs to slow me down. I wanna say it has made me a much safer rider because I have to anticipate everything.

As for the sticker, I only have one on there and the rest are the decals that came on the bike under the clearcoat. I really would rather have a bare frame as well, and have been thinking about sanding down and painting the stickered areas, I'm just afraid the paint might not match up and it might look worse.

OP: Do not worry, you are not the only one without a front brake. Dudes/Dudettes in Williamsburg/Bushwick, Brooklyn get around likewise as well. They are so cautious, I applaud their carefulness. I just do not have the patience to wiggle and waddle my way to an intersection.
Take that bike to an LBS that know what they're doing, they'll remove your stickers from under a clearcoat.

Nice looking bike. I got the same back(same color too:D) not too long ago, myself.

I rode w/o brakes but I deal with a lot of long sloping hill and I just felt sketchy/annoyed flying down hills and having to negotiate pedestrian traffic without at least having a front brake on for back-up. As I gain skill and confidence I'm sure I'll lose my reliance on the brake, but I think I'll always keep it on just for safety.

Nice tasteful modifications. I got rid of the saddle and the ridiculous stock cog(15 tooth, really?!?). Pedals are next(haven't had any durability issues yet, but the flimsy nature of them makes them a pain in the ass to get your feet into "on the fly".

Other than that I'm really happy with the bike.

if/when u make an sdfixed acct my sn is NiceFixieBro!, cuz that's what I say to every fixed rider I see on the road.

I tend to post lots and then disappear for a few months tho; it's a slow moving site.
