It's a copy of a Raleigh DL-1 and those only came in two sizes, 22 and 25. Pigeon copied the 22 only.

i researched these last year when one of my bosses wanted to buy one. they're like 40 lbs and singlespeed, and i haven't ridden one but you only asked if anyone had, you didn't exclude anyone from posting unless they have... in which case you could just stop insulting mods and start waiting to post ANYTHING until you read what you want to read.
It simply won't rust out quickly, though, because it's thicker than good steel, and who buys a cruiser thinking it's light weight?

They stopped making this model in 1985.
Even unrestored ones can sell for plenty more than $199, and the chrome will be pockmarked. You can't keep the wheels lightly waxed or oiled in order to stop the pockmarks from rusting all over again, or you will have no brakes.
The Nottingham Raleigh bottom bracket had a unique width and threading. If either the spindle (width) or cups (threading) are shot, you will need major surgery to get the bike to run again, as in facing 4mm off the BB shell and rethreading (and getting threads not as strong as before).
The Raleigh BB parts are well made but no bottom bracket will withstand poorly adjusted cups for long.
The threadless, repair bottom brackets don't fit because they are too narrow.
The Pigeon may share the bottom bracket issue, but its bottom bracket is new.
However, if you have the time and/or money, old Raleigh might be a better way to go. I just think it would be great to get a nice new one out of a box rather than polish part after rusty part for a few months.

tl;dr
It's 200. Buy it, if you want it. Not quite sure why you do, but go ahead.

While I think you have lowered the obsession bar a little low, it has a very shallow head tube angle and a long wheelbase and should give a very stable, easy ride. You know, like those 1970s Motos and Pugs you guys keep turning into fixies!
This is the "roadster", not the "sports" which most 3-speed utility bikes seen in the US are based on.
The Raleigh was supposed to be among the most comfortable of bikes, although it might be difficult to adjust the bar because of the rod brakes.
I like beach cruisers but their frames are always much too small unless I spend way more than anybody should for a C/B singlespeed, and then even if I did get the larger frame models which some of the name brand makers produce, the wheels would look disproportionately small.
Put some taller bars on a Pigeon and it will actually look nice. I was thinking the ones which are like BMX bars except with swept back grips and no central brace. I could use canti cable stops to actuate the rod brakes with levers and cable, or maybe reshape the brake bar and find a way to attach it to the handlebar.

That thing is the polar opposite of what most people on here want in a bike.
Also, whoever guessed it at 40 lbs, you surprisingly underestimated. Someone here says it's 49lbs!!
I had bourbon chicken, general tso chicken, fried rice, and chow mein for dinner.

And this is why nobody here gives a crap about this bike.

P.S. your trend has jumped the shark, so why so snotty?

That bike may have a cult following (you included), but you likely won't find many here that appreciate it.
BTW - premium rush is out in august. Influx of fixed gears here we go!

i was actually just thinking of buying one two or three days ago, and then looked at it and was like "hmm, that's 200 that could easily buy a trek 930 singletrack and fenders"
and then i thought "or half a paint job to make a custom track bike look like a keirin bike"

Whats with all the bickering here?
Anyways, my parents have had one of these bikes for decades and last time I went back(china) I used it for transportation most of the time I was there.
I found the bike incredibly heavy but, that gave it a super smooth ride that just soaked up the bumps. The rear wheel bike lock I found pretty cool, but would be completely useless here in north america.. The rod brakes looked super sketchy to me at first, but they actually worked! It was the first time seeing a bike with rod actuated brakes. I throughly enjoyed the ride for what it was. A a to b bike with no frills. I didn't ride it like it was stolen or bomb huge hills with it. I probably never exceeded 20km/hr with it.
With that said, I wanted to buy one as a bar bike as I seen this company before advertising it for $200. Shipping, Duties and taxes to toronto would have put it close to $400... nuts to that.
Cool and comfy bike imo. $200 yes. $400 no.

ROFLMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You knew better then to post it in C&V so you came here?!?!?!?!?!!? I smell epic troll win, but I'll play along anyhow.
The flying pigeon has poor factory quality control, the weight I find unacceptable unless I was buying an old raleigh, the brakes are garbage, and the rest of the components are a bottom end crap shoot. If you must pay 200 dollars for a heavy bike, might I suggest a Raleigh Sport

So I guess a flying pigeon would only be fun as a pet
