Price to create a Fixie.

I am looking at a new road bike in the near future and have an old steel frame Schwinn Le tour that I would like to make into a fixie.

What components would I need to buy if I only had the frame and can you give me a price range on each please?

Thank you
Daniel

go to your local recycling center and look around. i score cheap but good bike stuff regularly. talk to people, most people around where i live will end up giving stuff away to get it out of their garage. talk to the folks at your local bike shop. they may have some used stuff for cheap.

The rear wheel is the only fixie specific part you need. Other than that, any ol part you can scrounge up will do.

NYC Bikes has a rear wheel for $80. Get the rest from local bike shop take-off part bins.

I would guess that most fixies cost between $100 and $800 initially.
