Non-platform, no toe clip pedals
Is there a decent pedal that is not a bmx type platform that will still work good without toe clips and straps? I don't ride fixed, only single speed so obviously I'm using front and rear brakes. I tried Wellgo RO-25's with toe clips and straps and am finding them uncomfortable. I am looking for another alternative to clipless, though may just have to go back to them if I can't find something else to try.
I am wondering if something like these might work without toe clips? http://www.benscycle.net/index.php?m...oducts_id=9442 or if the tops would be too slippery, perhaps these? http://www.benscycle.net/index.php?m...oducts_id=9443 or http://www.benscycle.net/index.php?m...roducts_id=465 Thanks. |

Look up the MKS Stream. It's a good, double-sided platform pedal that is closer to a road-pedal than a bmx pedal.

Thanks for the suggestions! The Lambda's look interesting...
I also looked up the Sylvan Streams and see that the width is 3" (76mm), and may be to narrow for my liking. The Wellgo RO-25's that I'm currently running are almost 85mm at their widest point and I don't think I could go any narrower than that. |

http://store.velo-orange.com/index.p...bda-pedal.html http://www.rivbike.com/product-p/pe1.htm The width on these are not that wide - looks to be about 80mm or so. I guess the support comes from the length of them. |
I went from the MKS touring pedals to MKS streams with no issues. I have size 12 feet that are pretty wide.
