Rim/hub recomendation
Looking to build a 36 h wheel 120ish mm spacing. For polo and just riding... I just want something tough and will last me awhile.
Looking at Velocity Chukkers, B43 if I can get them machined. These http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/M...?ModelID=48152 And one more I forgot the name though I will post them later As for hub something with high flanges doesn't have to be flip flop.. I sort of want the rim to accept a wider road tire. |
Budget? Will these be your only wheels?

I have two wheelsets with Mavic CXP33 36h. Both are solid and I love them. Not sure on the max tire size, but I run 25

Those DT Swiss TK 540s look nice. I use Salsa Delgados but VO has a pretty sexy set of RAID rims that look solid.
Hubs are an easy choice(s): All City Sheriffs Surly NEW |
this gets asked all the time; like there is some magic combo of rim/hub that makes the perfect wheel.
much more important than any of the components for a wheel is how they are put together. go find someone who builds good wheels, give them your budget, and he/she will help you far more than any numbskulls on the interwebz bottom line: awesome components can be built into a really crappy wheel and even crappy components can make nice wheels in the hands of a skilled professional. my last bit of advice is stay away from velocity rims because they dent way too easily but i am sure ten or so people will contradict that statement. :innocent: |

I think i may go with these, I want the eyelets. Velocity looks nice and flashy but sorta trendy to me.. I want to try my hand at building a wheel, I like working on and building my own stuff. Anyways I think I will go with the High flange version of these http://www.dotbike.com/p/5049?utm_so...m_campaign=FGL |
