Thoughts on Bigshot Bikes
The few threads I found on these were kind of mixed and not very current. They are pretty reasonable in price but that also suggests pretty entry level. They have a raw steel model that looks pretty cool. Anyway, I'm looking for a SS for town riding - grocery shopping, taking kids to the park or for ice cream, quick trips here and there, etc. Obviously entry level would meet that need, but I'd rather pay a bit more if it meant a nicer frame, crank, wheels, etc. or one worthy of upgrading over time. Once I find my SS legs I might even do some longer rides. Thanks.

What are they going for?

You can get a hell of a bike for that cost. |
^^With a bike like that I'd be awesome too, right?

Overpriced with respect to what you can get from BD or a step up and maybe worth it?

A kilo tt pro for 450 blows that thing out of the water. Much better wheelset, as well as crankset.
|
I think the coolest part of their website is the listing of velodromes, and a short summary of each.
|
I see it's that time of the month again.

I like the way they look very stylish
i'm looking for a well built and stylish fixie like the big shots or sole bikes im just nervous to buy @ that price The kilo Tt sounds like a well built bike but it doesn't look as cool |
I'm with you bro. I'd much rather have a crappy bike that looks cool than a well-made bike.

 This thread.

I am not kidding you: the below threads are REAL!
http://www.bikeforums.net/archive/in.../t-628843.html - Big Shot Bikes http://www.bikeforums.net/archive/in.../t-799012.html - Big shot bikes anygood? http://www.bikeforums.net/archive/in.../t-783499.html - big shot bikes, yes or no? |
If we can only ask something once, why not just archive everything and close the forum? Seems part of the point here is to have discussions (and the unlimited entertainment value). And, I did search and did find and read two of those threads. One was old-ish and the other useless. The last one had a couple useful posts so thanks.
|
So you read the other threads and still thought it would be a good idea to start a new one?
|
what i want to know is how a big shot bike ad popped up along the right side of the page where a bikedirect ad usually hangs around, right when i opened this thread?
kinda spooky... |

Nagrom_ thanks for the tip on the Kilo. Will keep it in mind. |
General consensus around here is that Big Shot bikes, Sol or whatever the goofy names are. THey're all over priced and cheap, most of the time. YOu can get much better for less on BikesDirect.com.
BFSSFG gives a hard time to people who make these threads because they never stop. It's usually the same exact question, just in different context. Scrodzilla is also a mod, so he wouldn't really be doing his job without patrolling da thredz. http://i1239.photobucket.com/albums/...IFS/badass.gif |

If he grew Peter Frampton's head, he could be me. Have you learned how to ride a bike yet? |
I think the mods are biased to some extent.
