Brake recommendations for Surly Steamroller

I'm looking to upgrade the stock Tektro brakes that came with my 2011 Surly Steamroller. According to the Surly website, it will require standard reach brakes (47-57MM). Any recommendations in the $100-$200/set price range?

Tektro R730's, Cane Creek SCR-3L's, I think Shimano makes long-reach (most companies call 47-57mm brakes long reach these days) 105 brakes, and I think Sram makes long-reach Apex brakes. Buy whatever you think looks nice and what you can afford. Brakes are pretty simple, really.

If you really wanna be different, pair up Paul Funky Monkey hangers with Paul Racer center-pull brakes for a unique and uber-blingy setup.

$200 limit for brakes? Are we talking about brakes + pads + levers + cables/housing?

Or just the brakes? I'm curious as to the budget for parts like cranks and bottom brackets if you're gonna drop $200 on brakes.

What's wrong with the stock tektro's?

+1 --- $200 calipers? wow!

Chorus Skeletons are $184 + ship @ PBK. They only go to 50mm tho, izzat enough for your bike?

or if you like to lock up your rear wheel a lot, go with the 2011 Chorus, dual pivot on both ends last year. About the same price.

Thanks for the input guys! After hearing the comments, there may be no need to get new brakes. I am going to try out some kool stop pads first to see if that improves stopping power.
