Need a new fork

So ya, was hit by a car Tuesday and just got around to taking my fork to the bike shop to have it checked out. The shop said it was compromised, there is some clouding near one of the dropout inserts as well as a bulge, and the dropouts don't line up right anymore.
So now I need a new fork, which I'm having trouble finding what I want. Things to look for:
•needs to fit right on an oversized headtube. You can see my previous one didn't and it looked funky because of that
•carbon steerer is very preferred
•350g is ideal, 400 is okay, 450 is pushing icky
•I really like the time trial/bladed fork look, this kinesis is one of my favorite looking forks. I would really like something similar in design.

•and for the sake of the people who hit me, under $300 would be great.

What suggestions do you have that meets a few if not all of those criteria?

edit: and I hate curved fork blades on aluminum bikes, so none of those pretty please.

The I806TR is sub 200g (according to the ad, seems far fetched) and sub $300.

Ya I converted the .4lbs to 181g. Even if it's .49lbs that's 222g, and considering I've never seen a carbon fork that light I'm not too sure about that, especially coming from leader, which I love as a company but not for 1 second will I call technologically innovative.

As a whole those two forks are okay, I like the design of the first better but it's still not great. IDK, more ideas

Yeah, all specs online read 0.4lbs. Which is like 6.4ounces, and like 181 grams, which is equivalent to like 3.5 piles of bullsh*t.

Whatever units I put it in, I still can't believe it. haha.

BTW, yo OP, you got a link the the kinesis you pic'd?

she's hot.

Things I am not worried about:

If it has the correct offset, and length to make my bike function well.

stryper 06-22-12 04:24 PM

meh, the '09 leader 725 came with like a 43mm rake and axle to crown of 375mm ish. Almost all carbon forks are the same in those respects. 43 or 45 offset and axle to crown to fit a 23 tire, maybe 25, not a 28. It's all the same difference. I doubt anybody could notice the difference between 43 and 45 offset in a random test, and similarly I doubt anybody would be able to tell the difference between 370 and 380 axle to crown.

Like I said, love leader and my bike, but I'm not pretending it's some $5k precision engineered machine.

Anyone know anything about this Felt Airfoil Fork? I see the image, but searching the google isn't bringing up results for that.

http://www.slowtwitch.com/mainheadin...rkkinesis.html is where the pic is from. I saw the fork for the first time here on BF on a guys bike, but even 2 years ago I couldn't find any for sale.

It's a Felt 3.3 Airfoil. It's their stock for for their TT and Tri bikes. I don't believe you can get them separate.

Easton EC90 aero road or 3T Funda?

edit: ebay often has the easton fork for a steal.

Thanks, after a little bit of digging, I think it's a Kinesis RF-18/RF-19. Or at least that's their current equivalent.

Drop bars cut off with bar ends added. Everyone hates how they look but they ride comfortable. I'll get them welded into one clean piece eventually.
And yes spray painted. They roll they same painted or not.

Looks good. Do you know if that'll fit right on an oversized head tube?
