how would you rate this bike? better than the kilo tt, the hour?

Nagrom_ 06-23-12 08:21 PM

Those are all pretty much completely different bikes. What are you going to be using the bike for?

track1 06-23-12 08:23 PM

im going to be riding around the neighborhood. sometimes riding 10-12 miles. not super long rides.

I ride a Kilo TT Pro.

The question was: Do you have any disposition towards one of the bikes you mentioned?

personally, I'd get the Timeline. It has mounts for fenders/racks, has a nice relaxed geometry, and has clearance for wide tires if you ever wanted to, has most of everything you could want.

Howd you go from having trouble deciding between 3 300-400 dollar bikes, to being set on a 1000 dollar bike?

Some rational decision making process right here.

I hear bikesdirect is blowing these out for Windsor as a special promotional deal.

I ride a Timeline seems like i might be one of the few that do. I like mine it's relaxed has a sloping top tube which like, it's a very versatile bike you can use wide tires mount racks, fenders here's a few pics of mine.

My Windsor Timeline. I bought this used as a donor bike (wheels, crank, etc) but went a different way on that project, so now I have this. I realize the original poster bought a Bianchi, good for him, this thing is a tank. Fsa Carbon Seatpost, Turbo Saddle, Fsa Vision Stem, 3TTT bar, Dia Compe Levers; granted the 32c tires might add a pound or two, but I had a 2007 Fuji Track with pretty much the same component spec, a Brooks B17 and the exact same pedals; it weighed 20lbs (61cm). As you see it, Windsor Timeline = 26lbs, 9oz!
Other than the weight, it doesn't ride too bad, kinda slow and dull, might be good if you drink too much. The stock gearing is too tall for a fat tire, fendered street bike (46 - 15), the graphics are ugly and impossible to remove, and the rack mounts are useless, 4" too far up the stay to fit a Blackburn rack.
I have no attachment to this bike, other than my other bikes are victims of my constant tinkeritis and are unable to be ridden. I will get rid of this bike soon.
