A thread for the discussion and notification of weekend rides in the city.

The 15th and 16th both work for me, although I would prefer to start out in the morning.

Sounds like Saturday morning is the plan. Maybe we can ride saturday morning, and whoever else can meet up with us later in the day.

Any SF people who want to meet up later on saturday PM me and I'll send you my cell number. That way, when you get off work or wake up after the massive friday night party you can give me a call and meet us somewhere along the ride.

I'm a little out of shape, I hurt my foot and wrist over the new year's weekend and haven't ridden since last wednesday. If it's sunny on saturday I'm going to ride brakeless in an attempt to get back in shape.

You'll be fine, just eat a bit between the run and the ride. A few rides ago(right before the BCRC), BlastRadius did a 30 miler after competing in a CX race that morning....

Me too. Me too.

But I haven't ridden my fixie since I upped the gearing last weekend....so I'll be the one with burning quads whining like a girl. (but i am a girl so I guess its excusable?)

We could always start the ride with a planned SFBC ride:

Best SF Graffiti Bike Tour
10AM, Dolores Park
Explore the streets of SOMA, the mission, and the 3rd Street Corridor in search of the ultimate graffiti.

Looks like we may get a pretty good group for saturday, I hope the weather cooperates.

We could start with the SFBC ride and drop if they go too slowly....

I didn't mean Sac was bad, I've just always called it Sac-a-Tomatoes because my dad called it that. Other than being too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter it's a great city (I grew up in Stockton and visited a lot). I was thinking of bringing my bike but my wife gave me the evil eye when I suggested it. A DOH! Oh well, maybe next time I visit our data center in Rocklin, I bring my bike.

Yeah, you wouldn't want to pass that kind of thing on to your co-workers. Sounds like you need to call in sick and take a day to "boost your immune system", a nice ride seems to work well for me

The graffiti ride does sound cool, I'm just afraid that their pace will get boring. I'm down to give it a try though...

Edit: Looks like it's going to be raining on Saturday, if it does are any of you guys going to show up? Rain cancels the SFBC ride, and I'm not sure I want to ride in the rain if I don't have to. One thought, if it's raining we could re-schedule to Sunday. Commuting in the rain is one thing, but last time I rode fast in the rain I ended up with a nasty scrape on my forearm...

Hey, do any of you pay $600/month rent or less? I'm trying to find a cheap apartment in SF and am trying to figure out where to look. If you do, drop me a PM.

Thanks!

Sorry to say but I've never seen anything (not even studios) go for less than $1000 a month in the city. Maybe some others have though, good luck.

Four years ago I was paying $1700 a month for a one bedroom, but rent has come down a bit. Try looking on Craigslist.org

lowest I ever paid was $800 for a studio. Now 1260 for a two bedroom and garage.

Have we decided on when and where on Sat? 10am dolores park.

P.s.: rain cancels my ride.

Dude, that's amazingly cheap. You're getting a deal there, and you live right near where I was paying $1700 for the one BR.

I think 10am @ Dolores Park sounds reasonable, rain reschedules to sunday, same place and time.

If you do make it to the ride, can you bring that bar-end lever? Let me know how much you want for it...

I don't understand how you guys can afford that... you must have actual jobs or something. Sorry for hijacking the thread, briefly.

Yes it is pricey, but then again I definitely feel like I get my money's worth. Funnest city in this country IMO. Real job helps too.
